Refined Break Free CLP Liquid Officially Approved for Military Use A one-step cleaning solution exceeding the MIL-PRF-63460E(4) military test standards

ONTARIO, California – Break Free®, a brand of The Safariland Group, today announced its Break Free® CLP® cleaning lubricant preservative liquid is now officially approved for military use in the U.S. For many years, CLP has been known as the gold standard formula as the one- step lubricating protectant firearm solution. Now with its enhanced formula and after rigorous laboratory and live-fire testing, the world-renowned CLP liquid has been added to the U.S. Department of Defense qualified product list. The full line of Break Free products will be on display at the 2017 SHOT (showing, hunting, and outdoor trade) Show, booth #12762.

“Break Free CLP formulation exceeded the ‘impossible specifications’ of the MIL-PRF-63460E(4) military test standards,” said Adam Avitabile, category director, Hatch and Firearms Accessories for Safariland. “We are pleased to be able to provide this superior formula to military units that demand the highest level of firearm performance in the most challenging environments.”

Proven to perform in temperatures ranging from -65˚ F to +475˚ F after saltwater immersion, CLP solutions are manufactured from the highest-quality polymerized synthetic oils plus friction reducing anti-wear additives. Designed to clean, lubricate, and preserve firearms in extreme environments, Break Free CLP not only lubricates, but also, cleans firing residue and other contaminates from the bore and moving parts.

Having been used in the industry by many gun enthusiasts, competitive shooters and the law enforcement community, CLP solutions are known to protect metals and reduce metal-to-metal wear by layering surface areas with an advanced boundary film.

The Mil-Spec CLP liquid in a bottle will available this year and the Break Free line of solutions will be on display at The Safariland Group booth, #12762, throughout SHOT Show 2017, from January 17 to 20. For more information, please visit www.safariland.com/break-free.
