They say “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” but it’s hard to keep things quiet at night during the Safariland Expedition Multi Gun. Once you turn the lights out and the strobes on a whole other world opens up. The lights are out and the strobes are on, and we have shooters running 15 stages of pure fast and furious fun. We sat down with shooter John McClain and match director Pete Rensing to tell us more about what to expect when the sky goes dark.
“They always say everything gets hotter when the sun goes down and I’ll tell you right now, this match is proof of that. Last night, everyone was tired but I didn’t see a single frown on anyone’s faces. This was absolutely the most fun I’ve had at a match here. Super fast, super quick, there’s something for everyone here.” – John McClain
“These are Pete Rensing nights to the 10th degree. I have another event that I’ve been running and we put two night stages in that event. After the event I asked everybody, “what was your favorite part of the match?” and they all said the night stages, so when we decided to do the Safariland Expedition, we wanted to give our competitors more of what they wanted. We had two night stages in the other event, why don’t we run all 15 stages at night too? There’s a way to do it, so let’s give it to our competitors, this event is for them.” -Pete Rensing
“I had some guys come up to me after the first night told me it was the most crazy fun night match ever. We got strobes, we got green lights and blue lights and red lights and stuff going on all over the place. It gives the shooter the ability to shoot the stage without all their lights on their guns, to see a little bit, but it also gives the staff and shooters the ability to reset without turning their headlamps on and stumbling and tripping and falling.” -Pete Rensing
“All in all, this event is a win, win, win, it’s huge! You can see what you got, you can see this awesome looking stage, you can shoot it. There are targets out there if you don’t have lights on your guns you’re not going to be able to hit them. You still need to come prepared, but the atmosphere is totally way more fun then what we’ve done in the past.” -Pete Rensing
