Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well the truth of the matter is I purchased the model 6280 holster for my Glock 21 with high hopes of high security as I use it for duty reasons, Then they were soon dashed & i got very disappointed when i kept finding the hood open for what ever reason and my weapon very un-secure and my safety severely jeopardized.. . Then weeks later I heard about the sentry lock. so I purchased that as well and installed it. Now I love my system the holster is very durable and protects my weapon very well and Now I have NEVER found the hood open again. and the sentry adds a extra level of security/ protection that cant be over come by a perpetrator very easily in the event of a issue,,, very happy now

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Drawing from Fort Knox I’m a big fan of the thumb-driven ALS/SLS combo, but too much is too much. While the aforementioned systems involve a natural {grab-thumb forward-draw backward} mechanic, the Sentry requires you to prep the system and thumb it backwards before you can even draw: it messes up the whole motion. Furthermore, while the other systems are relatively fluid, the sentry is stiff and unyielding. If you must have a level IV holster, tack on the sentry, but if you’re smart you’ll disengage it at the first sign of trouble. If you’re purchasing for a department, give your officers a choice: is the added security really worth mandating the risk of forgetting how to draw at the moment of truth? Given that your officers probably disengage all the safeties as they start a traffic stop, are you sure about that?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but not so much compared to SLS/ALS combo Let's get it straight: if you want a level III holster get an SLS/ALS combo. But if, like me, you have a level II and wants an extra peace of mind without getting rid of (or just not being able to afford an upgrade of) your old friend LII, the sentry gives what you're looking for. It also lets the SLS hood a lot steadier, without its usual (little) play. I recommend 100% for owners of level II holsters who want an extra security.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent upgrade I have added this accessory to my Safariland Models 6360, 6365 (Glock 19 and Glock 17) and 6280 (Ruger GP100 and S&W 686). Installation is fast and simple, product is robust and breaks in quickly. With proper practice this added level of retention is comforting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Possibly a life-saving upgrade. Installed on all of my Safariland SLS holsters. Increased safety especially when on duty in crowded public places. Can also be left disengaged when tactically necessary. Simple but effective.
