Course Overview

The Safariland Training group now provides an introductory level course that will center on the methods and techniques for the documentation, collection and preservation of physical evidence taught by leading professionals in the Crime Scene Investigation field. The course is for new CSI’s, detectives, patrol officers, prosecutors and medical examiners who want to improve their crime scene skills. The focus of this class is on giving students the practical methodology for managing and processing the crime scene. Specific topics include: crime scene assessment, protecting the scene, photography and sketching of the crime scene, classification of physical evidence, evidence collection protocols, DNA evidence, firearms evidence, and latent print evidence.
