Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatility, durability and comfort= Safariland You want to talk about versatile, this belt is the very definition! Shooting just the AR, just the pistol, or going all out in 3 gun it is all right there! With the quick release system pop on and off the accessories you need in no time. With 2 19 round 9mm mags a 30 round Ar mag holstered pistol and shot gun shells you wont even know it is there even for us guys with a little extra in the middle! The Velcro under belt makes sure it stays right where you want it. All my buddies constantly adjust there Velcro only belts, not me put it run, kneel, go prone it doesn't matter everything stays right where it is supposed to be. 5 STARS is enough!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, durable, functional & pretty! I have several of these belts - I started with one black nylon, then I bought the basket weave, then I had to have it in red.... you get the picture. Long story short, this is the sturdiest, most durable competition belt on the market. You can bolt as many of the receiver plates as you want on it and quickly move stuff around between stages. Nothing will ever slide around, pop out or fall off. It is extremely strong too - I use one of mine for 3 gun and it is amazing how heavy of a load it can take without ever changing shape or "drooping"! Did I also mention that the red color is killer - really my style but also suitable for men. It turns heads at the range regardless of gender and I have already talked several of my friends into buying one. I will use mine until they fall apart, although that is not likely to ever occur. I would say as far as value for the money - this is the best choice if you want to buy a belt once and never have to worry about a new one again. (unless you just want it like me) Only gripe from a female perspective - it bruises my hips but so does any other belt with heavy load. I guess men won't have the same complaint, not only because of the lack of hips but also because "too sturdy" is hardly a complaint. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Belt System I've Found! This is a fantastic belt system. My past experience is with "ranger belts" that tend to flex too much, and older style double belt systems (ie, velcro inner and outter belt) that also flex but also don't grip (as in via velco) due to the clamp-on and slide-on accessories being so wide between the two belts that the velcro doesn't get enough purchase to consistently secure the overall system. With the screw-on ELS system, there is no "interference" to get in the way of the velcro being allowed to do its job in securing the belt into place. Additionally, this belt is stiff-- in a very good way! My holster and pouches don't move when I'm pulling something out of them, which is essential in a speed-based competition setting. I couldn't be happier with my ELS belt and attachments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The heart of the ELS The Safariland Equipment Locking System (ELS) and the Quick Locking System (QLS) are a means of quickly attaching and detaching accessories, such as magazine pouches, and holsters. The ELS is for accessories and the QLS is for holsters. This system gives you great flexibility in how and what you carry on your belt. I am a 3 gun competitor and I don't think you could shoot 3 gun without this system, or something similar. The heart of the system is the ELS competition belt. Since it is a belt, there is not much you can say about it. On the good side It is well made and attractively finished. It looks like it could last for many years . There are sufficient mounting holes for the ELS receiver plates. Of course, the under belt is the primary means of holding the competition belt in place, but there are two studs which fasten the belt around your waist and a keeper that slides over the belt in front of the studs to help keep them fasten. It takes a bit of break in before the studs are easy to fasten, but once this is done, you can fasten the belt behind your back for the most room in front. Here are two tips: 1. The tightness of the under belt controls where the competition belt fastens, so if you are having trouble fastening the competition belt, try adjusting the tightness of the under belt. 2. You want a larger belt size that what you normally wear. I am a size 38 pants waist. My competition belt is a 40 and the under belt is a size 44. NOTE: Appears that Safariland may have change to a velcro fastener for the competition belt and my comments about the studs may not longer be valid. I purchased my belt in 2013. As for negatives, the only one I have is the QLS receiver plate is NOT made to fit the 1 and 3/4 competition belt. The stock, pre-drilled holes will not line up with the holes in the belt. You can use one of the stock belt holes for the QLS receiver plate, but the other belt holes will not line up to the QLS receiver plate. When I first got the belt and tried to attach the QLS receiver it really bugged me, but eventually I realized it did not matter and just drilled the needed hole. Use the smallest drill bit you can. I have not had any trouble with the QLS after doing this. I really like the QLS, in conjunction with the competition belt, as I was able to adapt an old revolver competition holster to the QLS system and now only need one belt for 3 gun, Steel Challenge, or any other gun game I want to play, except Cowboy action shooting. Those guys are so picky about their gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and comfort unsurpassed! I wore my first Safariland ELS belt when I attended the Smith and Wesson immersion camp for women, Babes with Bullets, in 2011 in Louisiana. I lived in that belt 10 hours a day for 3 days. When I returned home to New Jersey I went on line to search for the belt because it was comfortable and it fit me. I bought a black plain model. At 4 ft 11 inches and 99 lbs (soaking wet) I was thrilled to find that the belt came in a size that did not require me to have it cut down! I've worn this belt through 2 more Babes camps (2013 in Kentucky and 2014 in Pennsylvania) and many local shooting opportunities. At my last camp a fellow camper had the belt in red, and I knew I had to have one. Red and black are my colors and the belt is a very sharp color red! As a small (OK, tiny) woman I found the padded loop liner to be a bit too bulky, but most women will appreciate the nice padding against their hips. The Safariland belts are THE best! The workmanship is superb and the belts are built to stand up to all the gear we carry and all the moves we make. I would recommend this belt to any shooter, male or female, but speaking as a woman who has seen a lot of different gear, I don't think there is a more comfortable or better looking belt! Five stars and more.
