Responding to individuals in serious mental health crises has become a significant part of the job for all types of officers and anyone who may come in contact with people who are suffering from mental health issues.
These are some of the most difficult, complex, dangerous and potentially litigious responses officers make. This class provides the students with the knowledge and skills to safely, effectively and humanely respond to individuals in serious mental health crises. Course requirements include successful completion of a written test and successful participation in role-play scenarios.
