Tactical Planning in a Correctional Environment
Designed for operators and on-scene supervisors, this exciting program teaches students how to operate in a high-risk correctional environment and handle unruly, belligerent and dangerous inmates. It teaches tactics designed for a successful outcome and prepares students to become instructors in those tactics.

Course Overview
This course is dedicated to the Corrections field and specifically addresses problems found in a correctional environment. With classroom and practical application, this 3-day course covers all aspects of dealing with situations inherent to the correctional officer. Students will participate in classroom, hands-on and scenario-based training activities. Students will operate alone and in a team. The course was designed and is taught by corrections experts with real-world experience. Each instructor has worked in a correctional facility with practical applications based on the instructor's actual experiences. All aspects of force are included such as shields, impact munitions, chemical agents, batons and shock devices.
The course covers the following topics:
- Cell extractions
- Small-room clearing
- Large-area clearing
- Less-lethal munitions
- Chemical agents
Prerequisites
Students must be a sworn law-enforcement or correctional officer, federal agent, state-licensed security officer (OC only) or active military. These courses are not available to civilians. Each attendee must be physically ft for duty and able to perform the physical skills associated with tactical applications.
