Safariland Introduces New Wheelchair Competition Shooting Products

Safariland® announced today the introduction of an exciting concept to the competitive shooting marketplace – a dedicated mounting system engineered to be used on wheelchairs by competitive shooters who are wheelchair-bound. Developed with input from wounded warrior Trevor Baucom and Team Safariland shooters, the Model #WCM Wheelchair Mount line includes three product offerings: one for a Production Class Holster (such as the Safariland #5198 holster), another for the new Safariland Model 014 Open Class Holster and a third one to mount competition magazine pouches.

Defense Technology® Brand Releases New MK-9S .7% OC Vapor

Safariland® announced today that is has released the First Defense® MK-9S .7% OC Vapor in its Defense Technology® brand. The MK-9S is the next innovation in pepper spray with an intense concentration of major capsaicinoids that is non-flammable, EDW-safe formula and produces a high volume mist, exceeding CRT and DOT flammability protocols. This formulation evaporates in a very short distance, eliminating the need for extensive area clean up or personal decontamination procedures. Designed for law enforcement, corrections, and military personnel, this vapor formula offers a rapid and effective way to gain control of threatening subjects.

Warren Kanders to Acquire Safariland, a Leading Manufacturer of Products for Law Enforcement

STAMFORD, Connecticut – Warren B. Kanders, through an affiliate of Kanders and Company, Inc. ("Kanders"), along with the management team of Safariland ("the Company"), have acquired Safariland from BAE Systems, Inc. ("BAE Systems") for cash consideration, after adjustment, of approximately $124 million.

Team Safariland Shooter Bobby McGee Wins Fifth Event This Season

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland®, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today that Team Safariland member Bobby McGee was awarded the Enhanced Service Pistol Division Overall Champion at the 2012 Golden Gate IDPA Championships in Richmond, CA earlier this month. McGee is starting off the 2012 competitive shooting season strong, with five major first place finishes so far this year.

Safariland® Save Sgt. Randy Crowther Represents Safariland in 2012 Police Unity Tour

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, is pleased to announce that Sergeant Randy Crowther of the Orem, UT Police Department, and a member of the Safariland® Saves Club®, represented Safariland in the 2012 Police Unity Tour. Crowther, riding his Safariland/Kona Patrol Bike 29er, left Somerset, NJ with a small group of 300 other officers from the Western United States for the first leg of the tour. This group was part of a much larger assembly of law enforcement officer cyclists who were making the ride to Washington, DC to take part in the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation (NLEOMF) ceremony.

Safariland® Releases Next Generation Competition Holster

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, announced today that it has released the Model 014 Open Class Competition Holster. This holster offers a host of advantages over other competition holsters, primarily in its ability to be customized. It is fully adjustable, compact and lightweight, and features an adjustable slider bar for the muzzle retainer that helps to keep the handgun from being knocked out of holster while seated. The Safariland Model 014 Open Class Competition Holster is the next generation of competition holster for the Open and Limited Class shooter. It will accommodate handguns from 5” to 7.5” in length, including the compensator, and it is made of hard anodized aluminum with a limited-movement pivot ball that provides four axis adjustments.
