PROTECH® Tactical announced today the availability of their new Type IV Armor Piercing Threat Plate, the Model 2230. This new plate has satisfied the hard armor plate requirements of the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) Voluntary Body Armor Compliance Testing Program under NIJ Standard-0101.06 (NIJ-06).

PROTECH® Tactical is pleased to announce the expansion of its line of ballistic shields with the introduction of the TSI family of type IIIA shields. These new shields are available in three sizes, 20” x 34”, 24” x 36” and 20” x 48”, and feature a flat design with a low-profile, ambidextrous collapsible handle for easy storage. The TSI shields feature a 4” x 10” multi-layered polycarbonate ballistic viewport with a 100% aramid ballistic shield design and durable 1000-denier Cordura® nylon outer skin. The combination of these materials makes the TSI family of shields extremely lightweight and affordable.

PROTECH® Tactical expands its premier line of carriers with the introduction of the side-opening CAV™ (Core Assault Vest). The new design focus for the CAV core platform creates a high-speed carrier that combines the standard desirable features required by tactical teams with the ability to customize the vest based on individual preferences. In addition, the CAV is manufactured utilizing a streamlined and efficient design that reduces material waste translating into a cost-savings to the end user without any compromise to performance.

Safariland, LLC announced today the launch of the new R2S™ System (Ratchet Retention Suspension System) for PROTECH® ballistic helmets. Utilizing proven retention technology from the construction and industrial safety industries, the R2S System tightens and conforms to the wearer’s head for optimum comfort with a simple twist of the easy-to-grip knob located at the base of the helmet, ensuring a secure fit for any head size.

Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, introduced today the redesigned Bark-9™ canine vest for law enforcement service dogs. The Bark-9 carrier is fully adjustable and incorporates a rugged Cordura® nylon exterior material for long-lasting wear. The Bark-9 is available with two ballistic options using the same materials as the PROTECH MR01 Type II and Type IIIA ballistic packages.

Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, introduced today the PROTECH® Intruder™ G2 Type IIIA shield. This ballistic shield is the first of its kind to incorporate a unique triangular viewport. The shield and viewport have been independently tested to defeat the following handgun rounds: • 9mm 124 gr. FMJ • .44 Magnum 240 gr. LSWC • Tokarev 7.62x25mm 85 gr. FMJ [steel jacket] • 5.7x28mm 40 gr. SS197/Blue Tip • WIN. Ranger 9mm 127 gr. +P+ SXT • .357 SIG 125 gr. TMJ

Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, introduced today the PROTECH® IMPAC™-HT Biceps (Upper Arm) Plate Set to its line of IMPAC special threat plates. The lightweight 7” x 8” plates come in a set of two and feature an increased curvature that conforms to the shape of the upper arm to provide added protection from handgun threats and trauma. These plates are compatible with the PROTECH Tactical upper arm (biceps) protector soft armor accessory, sliding easily into the special threat plate pocket and are made to be used in conjunction with the soft armor panels included in the accessory. The lightweight design and curvature of the IMPAC-HT Biceps Plate Set provide additional handgun threat and trauma protection to the upper arms without interfering with the officer’s mobility.

Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, announced a change to its PROTECH® IMPAC™ line of special threat plates. The PROTECH IMPAC-MT has been redesigned using high-performing uni-directional polyethylene and a fiberglass composite material. These plates continue to provide law enforcement officers with the same protection against special threat rounds as well as spike and edged blade instruments.

Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today the introduction of the new PROTECH® IMPAC™-CT/DT to its line of PROTECH IMPAC special threat plates. These plates provide law enforcement officers the option to upgrade protection against both corrections and duty threats.

Safariland™, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today the introduction of the PROTECH® Body Bunker® Breacher Type IIIA shield. The shield was developed to meet the ballistic needs of entry teams in scenarios using explosives.
