New model from Safariland™ ABA® Xtreme® Series offers competitive performance and price
Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today that it has released an additional armor model that satisfies the requirements of the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) new Voluntary Body Armor Compliance Testing Program under NIJ Standard-0101.06 (NIJ-06).
The XT01 Type II is part of the ABA®, Xtreme Series of concealable armor. Tested against the 9mm & .357 mag. NIJ-designated rounds, the XT01 Type II is a hybrid armor design that combines the high performance of Honeywell® Gold Shield® ballistic material with Twaron® Microlaminate for enhanced ballistic and chemical resistance. The combination of these materials provides reliable protection against a wide array of threats, while also offering an enhanced degree of flexibility.

New model from the Safariland™ Second Chance® Prism® Series provides combined stab and ballistic protection
Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today that it has released another armor model that satisfies the requirements of the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) new Voluntary Body Armor Compliance Testing Program under NIJ Standard-0101.06 (NIJ-06).
The MT21 Type II/Spike 2 provides combined ballistic and stab protection, and is the second multi-threat armor model added to the Second Chance, Prism Series. In addition to meeting the compliance test requirements for NIJ-06 Type II ballistic protection, the model has met compliance testing in accordance with NIJ Standard-0115.00 at protection level 2 against strike energy of 24.3 ft lbf (33 Joules) for spike protection. The MT21 was designed to incorporate breakthrough technologies such as Curv® technology in a solid application, along with advanced Twaron Microflex® spike-resistant material and Honeywell® Gold Shield® ballistic-resistant material.

Safariland Adds Two New NIJ Standard-0101.06 Models to its Family of Armor Solutions: SM01 II and IIIA
New models from the Safariland™ Second Chance® Summit™ Series and the PROTECH® Tactical series offer concealable and tactical ballistic protection.
The SM01 Type II and Type IIIA are part of the Second Chance, Summit Series for concealable armor. Additionally, PROTECH Tactical will be featuring the SM01 Type IIIA as the primary armor model available across its full range of side-opening style tactical vests.

MN01: New Body Armor Model added to Second Chance® Monarch® Series
Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today that it has released another armor model that satisfies the requirements of the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) new Voluntary Body Armor Compliance Testing Program under NIJ Standard-0101.06 (NIJ-06).
The release of the MN01 Type IIA introduces the Monarch Series as part of the Second Chance brand. The MN01, tested against the 9mm & .40 cal. threats, is an affordable solution that provides comfort and performance within a Type IIA vest.

Safariland’s PROTECH Tactical Line Introduces NIJ Standard-0101.06 Level III Hard Armor Plates
Safariland’s PROTECH® 2113MC-2 and 2113MC-3 were the first Level III hard armor plates to successfully complete the National Institute of Justice’s updated testing protocol for Level III rifle threat compliance under NIJ-06. In addition to meeting NIJ-06 compliance testing, the 2113MC-3 also underwent special threat testing to include multiple impacts against the 7.62 x 39 mm MSC round, more commonly known as the AK-47.

Safariland’s PROTECH Tactical Line Introduces NIJ Standard-0101.06 Level III Hard Armor Plates
Safariland’s PROTECH™ 2120-5 plate is one of three newly certified PROTECH Tactical Level (Type) III hard armor plates to successfully complete the National Institute of Justice’s updated testing protocol for Level III rifle threat compliance under NIJ-06. In addition, the 2120-5 plate has undergone a series of special threat testing to include multiple impacts against 7.62mm 180gr PSP, 7.62 x 54R 150 gr. LPS, 5.56 mm 62 gr. M855 and 7.62 x 39 mm 123 gr. MSC ballistic rounds.

PROTECH Tactical Expands Line of IMPAC Special Threat Plates
Safariland™, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today the expansion of its PROTECH® line of IMPAC® special threat plates. The line of IMPAC special threat plates can be quickly and easily inserted into the front and/or back external plate pockets of a concealable body armor carrier used by patrol, corrections, first responders and security officers. The IMPAC special threat plates are designed to be worn with concealable body armor for ballistic and/or stab protection against specific special threats.

Safariland’s XT-700 Type IIIA model (#BA-3A00S-FC01) has been determined by the NIJ to comply with the new NIJ-06 standard. Its release expands Safariland’s Xtreme® Series of concealable body armor to five NIJ-06 approved models available for immediate purchase.
