IMPAC™ Special Threat Plates

Enhanced ballistic and stab protection for body armor

The PROTECH^® Tactical IMPAC™ family of special threat plates provides law enforcement and correctional officers with an enhanced platform for survival. Utilizing the advanced technology used in PROTECH’s hard armor products, the IMPAC family of special threat plates rank superior for upgradable ballistic, stab or multi-threat protection. Extremely tough, but lightweight, each plate is tested as stand-alone in an independently accredited laboratory and should always be used in conjunction with an NIJ approved soft body armor vest.

Available in five styles:

IMPAC™ HT for high velocity handgun threat protection
IMPAC™ CT for spike and edged blade threat protection
IMPAC™ MT for handgun, spike and edged blade threat protection
IMPAC™ RT for rifle threat protection
IMPAC™ RT PLUS for heavy duty rifle threat protection

IMPAC™ HT (Handgun Threat)

Protection against high velocity handgun threats

High velocity handguns rounds are becoming more prevalent every day. The IMPAC-HT provides protection against some of these emerging special threat rounds. Ten times stronger than steel, the IMPAC-HT is precision fabricated with multiple layers of unidirectional polyethylene, compressed at ultra-high pressures to form a lightweight, semi-rigid special threat plate.

IMPAC™ CT (Corrections Threat)

Protection against spike and P1/S1 edged blade weapons

The weapons that inmates fabricate within a correctional environment are just as deadly as those on the street. The IMPAC-CT provides stab protection against spike and edged blade instruments. The IMPAC-CT is a made of a hybrid, ultra lightweight polycarbonate material and is only offered by PROTECH® Tactical.

Protection against rifle threats

For protection beyond the norm, the IMPAC-RT provides officers the ability to protect themselves against tested high-powered rifle rounds. Made of ultra-high pressed unidirectional polyethylene ballistic material, the IMPAC-RT uses the same hard armor technology trusted in our PROTECH® Tactical shields.

IMPAC™ RT PLUS (Rifle Threat)

Protection Against Heavy Duty Rifle Threats

Built upon the performance of the IMPAC-RT plate for rifle threats, the IMPAC-RT PLUS provides heavy duty protection in a sleek design. The IMPAC-RT Plus is made of a hybrid steel and fiberglass composite and is covered with heat bonded spall wrap to help reduce spalling, fragmentation and ricochet from ballistic impacts.
